The Police Contact Center is currently tasked with receiving reports, tips, and providing information to the public. Additionally, the Police Contact Center is an important part of the initial investigation process and the Police's work in solving crimes. The Automated Traffic Safety Control (ATK) system is a shared responsibility between the Swedish Transport Administration and the Police. The Transport Administration is responsible for establishing, operating, and maintaining the measurement stations. The Police, in turn, is responsible for investigating the speeding violations registered by the measurement stations. The section has national responsibility for the country's traffic safety cameras. In this permanent position, you have the opportunity to be part of building a new operation from the ground up. We are now recruiting employees for a new team that will work both as operators at the Police Contact Center (PKC) and as investigators in Automated Traffic Safety Control (ATK). The work is located in new modern facilities in Sollefteå. Job Responsibilities As a case handler, you have a broad crime investigation assignment where you both investigate traffic crimes detected through Automated Traffic Safety Control (ATK) and work with receiving and initiating investigations of other crimes. You lay the foundation for continued investigation work by receiving reports via phone and internet, receiving and registering tips and lost items, and conducting initial interviews and other initial investigation measures. You work actively and independently with your cases in consultation with the investigating judge and are expected to take initiative for appropriate investigation measures based on the case's circumstances. Your work also includes conducting telephone interviews and answering questions from the public and providing information about laws, regulations, and other relevant matters. This requires you to listen, communicate clearly, and tailor your approach based on the individual's needs. The work involves close collaboration both within and outside the organization, including with investigating judges, prosecutors, local police, and traffic police. You need to be able to work independently while actively contributing to the team and collaborating with other parties in the continued investigation work. The work is characterized by continuous documentation and administration and largely involves computer work in several different systems in parallel. This places high demands on your ability to structure and prioritize your work and to quickly understand and apply applicable laws, regulations, and procedures. Work as a case handler in Region North is divided into two shifts with some weekend duty according to a fixed schedule. We plan work according to period scheduling. Qualifications This is an opportunity for you who have: Completed upper secondary education or equivalent Good telephone and computer skills Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish Good ability to converse in English At least 12 months of recent work experience that the employer considers relevant for the position Can work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays It is meritorious if you also have: Current experience in service-oriented work with customer contact via telephone or personal meetings that the employer considers relevant for the position Current experience in administrative work that the employer considers relevant Investigation experience that the employer considers relevant Current experience in handling and managing your own cases that the employer considers relevant Experience using computer and telephone as work tools in daily work Experience working within the Police Authority or another government agency Proficiency in additional languages beyond Swedish and English that the employer considers relevant Post-secondary education that the employer considers relevant for the position Personal Qualities We are looking for you who are service-oriented and have an interest and willingness to help others.
