About the Workplace The Swedish Prison and Probation Service Region Midt has operations in Södermanland, Västmanland, Uppland, Värmland, and Närke. The Probation Services Mälardalen operational area consists of probation offices in Nyköping, Västerås, Uppsala, and Eskilstuna. We are now seeking a specialist with placement in Nyköping, where the probation office is centrally located and the service area covers Södermanland with 7 municipalities. Job Description As a decision support specialist, you will provide support to probation inspectors and correctional supervisors in their work with client decisions. Your assignment is to ensure quality of decisions in dialogue with colleagues in accordance with laws, regulations, and handbooks, as well as to ensure quality of language and other formal matters. Your duties include serving as secretary at probation decision meetings and assisting colleagues in developing decisions, decision documentation, and guidance on specific client cases. Following delegation, you will also make decisions in individual client matters. Part of the role involves participating in probation staff meetings and actively engaging in the legal care forums/practice forums that take place. Your role also includes identifying needs and proposing structures in dialogue with management and colleagues for how work can be conducted most effectively. Qualifications We are seeking someone with experience working in the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, strong knowledge of administrative law, and experience handling public administrative matters. To succeed in this role, you need to be organized and able to express yourself well both verbally and in writing. You must be flexible, able to plan and prioritize your work, and drive your processes forward. Furthermore, you need to work well with other people, listen, and communicate clearly to ensure messages are received and expectations are clear for all involved parties. You also need to have well-developed pedagogical abilities. You thrive working independently but can also take on tasks that need immediate prioritization on short notice.
