Together with your colleagues, you contribute to creating efficient and safe cargo flows where each work effort matters for the operation to function well. Here you get an important role in the daily work and the opportunity to influence how we develop our working methods going forward. Work is conducted in shifts with morning and afternoon shifts. Depending on operational needs, on-call duty may also occur. YOUR ROLE As a port worker, you and your colleagues are responsible for operating, maintaining, and servicing the port area. The work is varied and includes both cargo handling, equipment operation, and practical tasks that contribute to the port's safe and efficient operation. An important part of the assignment is preparing for ship arrivals and participating in line handling, loading, and unloading. You work with forklift operation, container handling, ship cleaning, and securing loads with chains and slings. Safe cargo handling is a natural part of the work and runs through all work tasks. The role also includes operating equipment such as forklifts and wheel loaders, as well as operational and maintenance work within the port area, such as snow removal, sanding, and sweeping of quays and roads. Depending on operational needs and your competence, crane operation and simpler service and maintenance work may also occur. You become part of a team of approximately 15 employees where collaboration, planning, and a strong safety mindset are crucial for the operation to function well. YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE We are looking for someone with experience operating wheel loaders, forklifts, or similar equipment. You are accustomed to handling cargo safely and efficiently and understand the importance of organization, planning, and safety in daily work. To be eligible for the role, you need: Experience operating wheel loaders, forklifts, or similar equipment. Good physical capacity as the work is physically demanding and performed outdoors year-round. Class B driver's license. Good ability to communicate in Swedish or English. If you also have experience from port, terminal, logistics, or industrial operations, we consider that a merit. The same applies to forklift certification, operator's license for wheel loaders, experience with larger equipment or vehicles, and knowledge of basic service, workshop, or maintenance work. To thrive in the role, you need to be stable and able to maintain focus even when the pace varies and conditions change. You collaborate well with others and contribute to smooth workflow.
