We're seeking one or more health economists.
Job Responsibilities
As a health economist, you will process applications from pharmaceutical companies requesting that a medicine or consumable product be included in pharmaceutical benefits. You'll also conduct health economic assessments of pharmaceuticals and medical devices for the regions. You review and evaluate the materials submitted by companies to the agency that form the basis for health economic analysis. The investigations vary in scope and complexity.
Working collaboratively with other health economists, legal experts, and medical investigators, you'll develop and prepare materials that form the basis for assessing whether the cost of a pharmaceutical or medical device product is reasonable in relation to the benefits it provides. You and your work group will present your findings either to the committee that makes decisions on subsidy matters or to other recipients, such as the NT Council or MTP Council.
The role also involves participating in the department's development work regarding working methods and processes, based on interest, competence, and needs. The department is also responsible for implementing and following up various government assignments.
The work is independent but involves significant interaction with colleagues in various functions within the agency and externally with Sweden's regions, patient representatives, professionals, and companies.
Qualifications
We're looking for someone who has:
- A university degree in economics with a focus on health economics or another relevant university degree for this position
- Experience working with health economics and health economic evaluations
- Knowledge of statistical methods and economic models
- Strong ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing, plus good presentation skills
It's advantageous if you have:
- Experience in the pharmaceutical sector at agencies under the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs, the pharmaceutical industry, regions, or academia
For this role, it's important that you are proactive, solution-oriented, and have strong analytical abilities. You work independently and have good collaboration skills. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Employment Terms
Permanent full-time position beginning with a six-month probationary period. Start date as soon as possible, by agreement.
