Your Responsibilities As a Swedish language teacher with us, you will primarily work with targeted student support in the classrooms in close collaboration with the teaching Swedish teachers. You will teach students in our vocational programs where your ability to connect the Swedish subject to students' future professional roles becomes a decisive success factor in your teaching. Your starting point as a teacher is to work with planning, instruction, evaluation, and values-based education based on the curriculum. The work takes place both independently and in collaboration with colleagues. As a teacher, you collaborate with guardians, colleagues, and others in the school to achieve higher goal fulfillment and create the best conditions for each student. You begin with the student group you meet and are expected to create varied and challenging instruction. Using digital tools is a natural part of your teaching. This position is a fixed-term appointment until 2026-12-18 and involves support instruction in Swedish across several of our programs. Your Workplace Anders Ljungstedts gymnasium (ALG) is a large school with approximately 1,000 students and 200 employees. Organizationally, the school consists of five principal areas with close collaboration on matters that create synergies in operations. It is easy to reach the school, located just a short walk from Linköping's central station, and there is plenty of parking. Getting here by city bus, bike, car, or commute from Norrköping/Finspång also works well. The school offers eight national vocational programs, some of which are industry-certified, four introductory programs, five programs within adapted upper secondary school, municipal adult education in multiple professions and as adapted education, and upper secondary vocational education. About You First and foremost, we are seeking someone who holds teacher certification with the authority to teach Swedish at the upper secondary level. Second, we are seeking someone who has completed upper secondary teacher education. Alternatively, you are nearing the end of your upper secondary teacher education. It is a requirement that you have experience working in a curriculum-driven school through internship or as an employee. In your role as an upper secondary teacher, you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are well familiar with the curriculum (Gy11/Gy25) and other governing documents. You have good communication skills in spoken and written Swedish. This is because, according to the curriculum (Gy11/Gy25), you should organize and conduct your work so that students receive support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way. As a teacher, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your instruction to students and allow them to participate in shaping the teaching. In a quality-conscious manner, you create good conditions for student development and learning and document it.
