SiS Youth Residential Treatment Center Tysslinge, located outside Södertälje, accepts non-compulsory school age boys with psychosocial issues, criminal behavior, and substance abuse problems. About the Workplace SiS Youth Residential Treatment Center Tysslinge is a maximum security institution that accepts youth with high risks for threats, violence, and absconding. The facility has seven residential units total, accepting youth placed under the Youth Care Act (LVU), youth sentenced under the Secure Youth Care Act (LSU), and one unit for youth receiving isolated care (VIE) during specific periods. The majority of our youth are involved in legal proceedings or have been sentenced for serious crimes and have connections to criminal networks. School is an important and central part of the youth's care and treatment and serves as a vital protective factor. The school operates under the Education Act and provides individually adapted schooling within introductory programs. Job Description We are seeking a certified teacher with subject authorization in mathematics and one or more additional subjects, preferably in natural sciences and/or science-based subjects. SiS is responsible for the education of all enrolled youth regardless of their circumstances or placement type. All youth at the residential center must receive the education they need and are entitled to. At Tysslinge School, we offer instruction at both lower secondary and upper secondary levels within language introduction programs and individualized alternatives. We apply a special education approach and engage in continuous professional development. Tysslinge School currently consists of thirteen teachers, one special education teacher, one study and career advisor with administrative responsibility, and one principal. The school is continuously evolving and is highly prioritized within SiS. As a teacher with us, you will teach small groups with accommodations tailored to each student's needs. We have our LVU students for shorter periods and our LSU students for longer periods. A positive approach and belief in each individual's development potential are essential. As a teacher with us, you will motivate each student to achieve competency in their subjects or courses. You collaborate with school staff and other professionals at Tysslinge regarding students. You document your instruction to facilitate the student's future education. You participate in collegial learning, mentoring, and school development. When needed, you substitute for colleagues. It is advantageous if you have Several years of experience as a certified teacher in your subjects Multiple subjects in your authorization Experience working within introductory programs Experience working with youth in vulnerable situations Experience working with students with special education needs/specialized learning groups As a person, we see that you are a good and trustworthy role model for our youth.
