Gryning Seeking Treatment Pedagogue for Night Shift at Honor & Protection Unit

For 25 years, Gryning has provided residential and open care for children, youth and families, emergency and family homes, addiction care, supported apartments, services against honor-based violence and oppression, and LSS housing. We offer counseling and training and help with placements. Gryning is owned by municipalities in Västra Götaland through four municipal federations. The Honor & Protection Unit offers, on behalf of social services, to investigate and assess protection needs and provide protection and care to individuals who need placement due to an external threat. Our main target group is young people aged 14-18 who are subjected to or risk being subjected to honor-based violence and oppression. These young people are placed in our protected residential facility. We also have the ability to offer protection to adults in our apartments around Skaraborg, and the reason for the protection need can vary, from honor-based issues to intimate partner violence or connections to gang crime or other types of crime. We are now seeking a new employee for a permanent position at our protected residential facility. You will be one of 4 treatment pedagogues working shifts with overnight sleep-in on-call at the residence. You always work together with a colleague to support our protected young people in the evenings and nights. The position is 57%. Working hours are primarily scheduled between 19:30 in the evening and 08:30 in the morning with sleep-in on-call between 00-08. You work on a two-week schedule with two shifts every other week and 5 shifts every other week. The position is often easy to combine with studies or other part-time employment. WORK DUTIES What does the position entail? We work from an environmental therapeutic approach. As a treatment pedagogue on night shift, your work duties include care and supervision of the young people. In the evenings and at night, the focus is on maintaining safety, calm and security. As a treatment pedagogue on night shift, you need to document in our documentation system. Acute situations may arise that you need to handle, such as incidents, medical visits, and you will need to conduct a risk assessment based on the protection of the young person. You should be a reliable adult who is available at night if the young person is, for example, anxious or sad. QUALIFICATIONS Who are you? We are looking for you with at least a two-year post-secondary education, or an education equivalent to this, with a focus on social work, social pedagogy or behavioral science. If you have experience working at residential care facilities, this is a merit. We expect you to be interested in other cultures, honor and protection. We are looking for someone who is secure and stable and who has the ability to create calm and security. You are responsible, have personal maturity and good self-awareness.
