Do you want to work in a city where ideas quickly become reality and where you see the results of your work? In Sundbyberg, there is a close connection between people, decisions, and opportunities. Here you get to have real influence while developing and growing in your role. In the youth unit, we are constantly working to improve and develop our operations. Today we have a well-staffed and stable organization within our authority functions for our young people. Of particular importance to us is a systemic approach with a focus on supporting families and networks, as well as ensuring each child's best interests based on the child's context. Over the past few years, we have developed our open care services and today offer our families qualified and comprehensive support. The Youth Unit is a unit within the Authority Department in the Welfare and Care Sector. The unit has committed and skilled employees who work together in daily operations. The unit is divided into three groups with approximately seven social workers in each group, some of whom are senior social workers. The target group is children/young people ages 13-20 and their families/networks. One of the groups has a particular focus on young offenders and young people at risk of criminality. We work with investigations and follow-up of interventions according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Act with Special Provisions for the Care of Young People (LVU). Our focus is on conducting good social work. For us in the youth unit, this means creating investigation processes that support families' change efforts. There should be a high level of user participation in everything we do. When interventions are needed, support and treatment are offered at home as much as possible. Two placement secretaries support the work by assisting with placements, and a development leader in the children and youth field. The department also has a relationship violence coordinator who works on development and change efforts regarding violence in close relationships. We have developed our work, at both structural and individual levels, with young offenders and young people at risk of criminality. We are now seeking a new group leader for the group focused on young people in criminality and young people at risk of criminality. As a group leader, you work on the unit manager's assignment and are responsible for leading and distributing work for a group of social workers in the unit who focus on investigating and following up approved interventions for young people ages 13–20, with the aim of preventing continued norm-breaking behavior and recidivism. You strengthen employees in their case management role through an advisory, supportive, and guiding approach. You are also responsible for continuing to develop investigation work and finding functional structures to assess risk and needs for children and young people who commit crimes or engage in other norm-breaking behavior, based on the National Board of Health and Welfare's knowledge support. You collaborate with both internal and external partners such as police, schools, field secretaries, open care, criminal care, and others to work multimodally during the investigation process to mobilize multiple actors around the young person and conduct more intensive investigations. The investigation should be the beginning of change for the young person. You work closely with the unit's other two group leaders and group leaders from other units, primarily the children's unit, foster care, and the intake unit. This ensures that we work with legal certainty and in a similar manner throughout the department. We want you to be educated as a social worker. You have several years of experience in authority functions within the children and youth field. You have good knowledge of laws and regulations in the children and youth field. You have previous experience leading and distributing work in a youth unit. Training in systems theory is a merit. You should be interested and driven in operational work and enjoy the challenges posed by a leadership role in a developing unit. You should enjoy working at a varied pace. You are responsible, structured, and have good collaboration skills. You are relationship-building and have the ability to listen, coach, provide feedback, and make decisions. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities! We offer you a creative and proactive department with opportunities for professional development and training. As a group leader, you participate in joint supervision with other group leaders within the department's children and youth field. Sundbyberg Municipality offers wellness allowance and the opportunity to exchange holiday pay supplement for extra days off. We are located in an activity-based office landscape in modern facilities in Sundbyberg City Hall in Hallonbergen. The position is a permanent full-time employment. Start date by agreement. Apply no later than September 6, 2026. The selection process will proceed continuously during the application period. We do not accept applications via email.
