The IT department's primary mission is to provide IT services to the entire Police Authority. The IT department is a vital part of crime prevention and crime fighting efforts, and IT is one of the most important tools for improving police efficiency and enhancing the quality of police work. The IT department develops and modernizes the police's IT systems, and the authority is investing significantly in strengthening the department with new specialized expertise and the latest technology for the benefit of citizens and employees in police operations. The Service Desk Section is part of the IT Customer Service unit and is responsible for first-line IT support to users both within and outside the Police Authority, as well as coordination of major incidents. Operations run 24/7. The section consists of approximately 55 employees divided into four groups. Job Responsibilities As a group manager for one of the Service Desk groups, you will lead, coordinate, and follow up on your group's work and results, with responsibility for work environment and personnel management. You report to the section manager and participate in the section's management group together with other group managers, where you collectively are responsible for ensuring that assignments are completed and for driving the authority's change and development initiatives with a particular focus on developing support operations. As a group manager, you represent the entire Police Authority both internally and externally and work to strengthen confidence in police operations. Qualifications This is an opportunity for you if you have: - At least six months of continuous experience working as a manager with personnel responsibility in the recent past - Experience in the current field of activity - Relevant education/training for the position, or work experience that the employer considers equivalent - Experience leading change and development initiatives - Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written - Swedish citizenship We consider it a merit if you also have: - Served in a management group or similar management forum - Experience leading others toward set goals and results - Experience leading work within IT customer support, or other experience that the employer considers equivalent - Management and leadership training - Experience working in accordance with ITIL methodology, or other experience considered equivalent - Experience working in a large IT organization When hiring, we will place great importance on personal qualities and leadership abilities.
