Our Operations
The Medical Products Agency has the task of ensuring that medical technology products in Sweden are safe, effective and fit for their intended purpose. We operate in an interdisciplinary environment in close collaboration with healthcare, industry and other authorities in Sweden and Europe.
On January 1 this year, a separate operational area for medical technology was established, consisting of three units and a staff. The operational area currently consists of nearly 80 people and covers the authority's responsibility to conduct supervision, support access to medical technology products, provide guidance through knowledge and develop regulations.
The Supervision and Notified Bodies Unit is responsible for conducting supervision of manufacturers of medical technology products and designating and monitoring notified bodies. Supervision is carried out through administrative control, inspections and safety surveillance.
We are now looking for a manager for the Safety Surveillance group.
Your Responsibilities
You will lead a team of eleven employees in a growing operation; together with the team you will establish structures and working methods that promote effective supervisory work, while building a shared culture characterized by commitment and clarity.
As group manager, you will lead and distribute daily work with responsibility for personnel, working environment and operational follow-up. You will lead the group's work of monitoring medical technology products on the Swedish market, which takes place in close dialogue with manufacturers and other EU authorities. Together with the unit manager and management colleagues, you will be instrumental in ensuring quality and goal achievement and actively contribute to strategic development work for the entire unit and operational area.
Your Background
We are looking for someone who has…
a relevant medical, technical or natural science degree, or other education that we consider equivalent
many years of leadership experience, preferably with formal personnel responsibility
relevant experience from manufacturing industry within the medical technology field, for example from a position in regulatory or quality function
experience of working in a complex environment with many stakeholders, objectives and dependencies, which requires collaboration to achieve the desired effect.
It is advantageous if you have a comprehensive understanding of medical technology regulations and personal experience of working with deviations, corrective and preventive measures and safety reporting. Experience in introducing and using modern digital tools to make your work and operations more efficient is also advantageous. You express yourself well orally and in writing in both Swedish and English.

You are an engaged, brave and development-oriented leader who is accustomed to working with your employees and management colleagues to drive change and development. You have the ability to inspire and motivate others and in close cooperation with operations lead towards a clear vision. You are clear in your leadership and work with a holistic perspective in a modest and attentive manner. You are interested in people and have a good ability to communicate and build strong relationships, both with colleagues at the Medical Products Agency and with external partners and groups.
