We are growing and are now seeking a group manager for a newly established position, a role where you get to develop employees, research, and new industry-focused initiatives. The business area operates within environment, energy, and metallurgy, with a focus on developing metallurgical processes in close collaboration with industry and with clear industrial benefit as the goal. We are expanding with a research group in metallurgy, with a focus area that complements our current organization. About the Role As a group manager at Swerim, you will have a key role in developing research, business, and employees. You lead a team of researchers and experts and drive industry-focused projects within environment, energy, and metallurgy. The role will also be important as the area expands toward hydrometallurgy and batteries. You work in a collaboration-oriented environment together with companies, public actors, universities, and colleges. The group consists of 10-12 researchers and experts with access to well-equipped pilot facilities and close support from technicians. You report to the business area manager for Metallurgy and collaborate with other group managers to develop operations, business, and future initiatives. We seek a leader with a background in research and development, preferably from industry or research institutes. You are also active in initiating, generating, and implementing research projects where your scientific background and industry network become valuable assets. Who Are You? You are an experienced and curious leader with senior expertise in an area relevant to the role. You thrive in the space between research, industry, and business and are motivated by converting knowledge into concrete benefit for customers and society. If you have a research background and experience in initiating, generating, and driving research projects, that is a merit. As a leader, you are unpretentious, communicative, and engaged. You build trust, develop relationships, and help people grow through clear direction, participation, and collaboration. You are driven by strategic work and business development and by creating results together with colleagues that contribute to a sustainable industry. Experience with personnel and work environment responsibility is an advantage, but most important is your willingness and ability to lead and develop the group.
