The IT Department at Stockholm University consists of approximately 120 employees who have overall responsibility for Sweden's largest university's IT environment. The assignment includes developing, managing, deploying, and monitoring platforms, systems, and services that support education, research, and administration. We are now seeking a Group Manager for IT Infrastructure to join the IT Department. With us, you contribute to the university's digital development by leading a group of approximately 15 experienced IT infrastructure technicians. Together, we deliver modern, secure, and business-aligned IT services that create value for students, researchers, and staff, while strengthening our competence and delivery capacity. You will have a central role in developing our IT technical expertise for today's and tomorrow's needs. We are looking for someone with a strong interest in people and good technical understanding. You have experience leading within IT, as a manager or in another leadership role. Duties As a Group Manager for IT Infrastructure, you have personnel and budget responsibility for approximately 15 experienced employees and consultants. You work closely with delivery teams and other stakeholders to ensure that your employees develop in line with operational needs, technical capabilities, and long-term goals. The role involves many contact points and you collaborate with other managers, HR, team coaches, product owners, portfolio coordinators, business representatives, and suppliers. We are on a transformation journey where agile working methods and approaches have been gradually implemented within our teams and product areas. At the same time, support and incident management are conducted according to established ITIL-based processes and working methods, with a continuous focus on strengthening security in everything we do. As a group manager, you have an important role in contributing to and driving your employees' continued development. As a Group Manager for IT Infrastructure, your responsibilities include: Have personnel and budget responsibility for approximately 15 employees and be present in their daily work. Ensure both short- and long-term competency supply together with other group managers. Contribute to a good, inclusive, and sustainable work environment where employees can develop and perform over time. Responsible for employee conversations and salary setting. Responsible for recruitment, onboarding, HR matters, and competency development. Manage and follow up on consultants. Qualifications We are looking for someone who has: Post-secondary education in IT or equivalent competence. Several years of experience as a manager or in another leadership role within IT. Experience with development, operations, or management within an IT department. Experience with HR matters related to IT operations. Experience working in a changing environment. Very good ability to communicate in Swedish, both orally and in writing. Meritorious: Experience with change management and implementation of new, preferably agile, work methods and approaches within IT operations. Broad experience with competency supply within IT, such as competency strategies, staffing, recruitment, and skills transitions. Experience working within IT infrastructure. Personal qualities: We would like to see that you: Communicate clearly and create engagement around a shared direction. Collaborate very well, build trusting relationships, and help others succeed. Work independently, drive work forward, and achieve goals in complex environments with many dependencies and perspectives. Have a professional approach and good problem-solving ability. Employment Terms The employment is permanent, full-time, with a six-month probationary period. Stockholm University applies individual salary setting. Start date by agreement.
