Our IT department is undertaking a major initiative focused on a digital Swedish Prison and Probation Service. Together we work to create conditions and solutions that make a difference in our operations. The Swedish Prison and Probation Service's IT department is in an expansive phase, and we therefore also need reinforcement in leadership. Within the Prison Service's IT, we work extensively with both in-house development and procurement of standardized solutions. All in-house development takes place in a Microsoft environment. We actively work to improve our working methods and strengthen our agile capabilities. We are well advanced in technological development; now the working methods in collaboration between IT and operations need to be refined. Job Description As a manager in the IT department, you will have the opportunity to work on a mission of societal importance and be part of the authority's journey toward a more digital Swedish Prison and Probation Service. You will be part of the unit that works with digitalization for the Prison Service's core operations. Within your area of responsibility, you will have overall responsibility for personnel, operations, and budget. The team consists of 10–15 employees plus consultants, which together amount to up to 23 people over time. The team works in a complex and challenging IT environment where the work requires a needs-driven approach in close collaboration with the receiving operations and their end users. As a group manager for core applications, you will lead and further develop a team responsible for developing and maintaining applications. We work in development teams staffed with various roles such as System Developers, Architects, Testers, Requirements Analysts, and UX Designers. The team is also responsible for ensuring accessible, secure, and cost-effective IT delivery. You are responsible for the team's work on continuous improvement and change initiatives and are involved in creating an attractive workplace with a good work environment. Together with your management colleagues, you work in the section's and unit's management group to plan and follow up on operations development. We are looking for someone who has: Academic education or other education combined with experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant Several years of experience as a manager with personnel and budget responsibility Experience leading development work, driving and implementing change processes Good knowledge of and experience with practical application of trust-based leadership Good command of Swedish language in both speech and writing Good ability to express yourself well in spoken and written English It is also meriting to have: Academic degree in, for example, systems science or computer engineering or equivalent, or other education combined with experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant Documented leadership training Experience from operations-oriented assignments with connection to delivery and application development in larger complex organizations Experience with systems development or procurement of IT systems Experience with agile working methods Work experience from a public authority or other public sector organization that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant Other Information The Swedish Prison and Probation Service has chosen to remove the personal letter and replaced it with selection questions relevant to the position.
