We are looking for a manager for the team working with research communication and news at KTH. A new colleague with strong leadership skills and extensive communication expertise who, together with the team members, drives the operation forward. Is that you? About the department/group As manager of the research communication and news group with approximately twenty employees, you are part of KTH's communications department. We have three additional groups in the department, which together have approximately sixty employees. Together with the other group managers and the department head, you form the management team. Job responsibilities You lead experienced employees through trust, security, and transparency. You work based on goals, measurement, analysis, and development to achieve results. You can take our news work to the next level through, among other things, technical development to free up time to create even more content. For research communication activities, you can drive work both to develop how KTH's researchers receive communication support and how KTH's research is disseminated to various target audiences. We know that we want to create even more visibility for KTH through editorial content and that we want all the outstanding research at KTH to be seen. This is work that we want you to lead us in. The group manager assignment consists of four parts: - Editorial content work where we coordinate all our news work including press work (responsibility for the entire press function is organized in another group within the department) - Close communication support to KTH's researchers and cohesive research communication for KTH - Externally funded communication support to center formations, research programs, etc. - Communication support for strategic partnerships and broader collaboration Together with employees and colleagues, you create efficient and quality-assured communication and drive the operation in a strategic direction. You manage change processes, develop analysis and measurement to benefit communication at the forefront, and implement new working methods. You have operational, personnel, and budget responsibility. You act in roles as project manager, project participant, and steering group member. You have the competence and ability to work operatively with communication. When you work, you communicate clearly. You have a broad perspective on issues where you see the long-term significance of things, broader consequences, and adapt actions accordingly. Qualifications Requirements - Work experience from managing editorial work with complex content that the employer deems relevant. - Work experience from press work. - Work experience in a leadership role with personnel responsibility in a large and multifaceted organization with many different stakeholders. - Higher education in communication or journalism or other education, such as post-secondary education, that the employer deems relevant. - Education in leadership. - Continuous professional development through education and environmental monitoring within the communications field. - Very good knowledge both in writing and speech in Swedish and English as these are used in daily work. Personal qualities You lead through trust, security, and transparency. The strong leadership qualities we are looking for are your ability to engage, motivate, coordinate, create participation, delegate authority, and reach common goals. You are development-oriented with great collaborative skills. You need to be persistent and have good judgment.
