Job Description
You will lead a new group, which will be established upon your arrival at the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Unit. The group consists mainly of existing employees who work according to well-established methods. The focus is on business law and compliance control of conditions, as well as FDI-related EU matters.
As a manager, you will contribute with integrity and a sense of responsibility by providing qualified legal support to your colleagues and represent the legal perspective in the broader operational activities. You will work continuously with various areas of law and are expected to quickly familiarize yourself with new matters in both Swedish and EU law. Together with your team, you ensure that high-quality legal assessments are produced on time. You are also expected to support the agency's work based on the new EU regulation on investment screening, which comes into force in early 2028, analyze the consequences for the FDI Unit's operations, and assist in that work.
In your personnel and work environment responsibilities, you are expected to contribute to the further development of your team as well as the operations, both within your own group and for the entire unit, and ensure good legal quality in the development work. You will join a unit with engaged colleagues where development and Sweden's security are in focus.
As a group chief, you are part of the unit's management team, and contact with other authorities and the public is a natural part of the work.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Law (Juris kandidatexamen) or law degree (juristexamen)
Current, relevant, and several years of management experience with personnel responsibility
Current, relevant, and several years of experience in qualified legal work
Current and relevant experience in government administration, preferably through work at a public authority
Very good ability to express yourself orally and in writing in Swedish
Very good ability to express yourself orally and in writing in English
Meritorious
Experience working in EU law, corporate law, contract law, or other areas of law relevant to the FDI Act
Experience in business development
Interest in foreign policy, security policy, and defense policy
Interest in EU matters

About the Business Law and Compliance Group
The group is one of five groups at the Foreign Direct Investment Unit. The newly established group's area of responsibility is to provide qualified legal support to the unit regarding business law matters and the application of the framework for screening foreign direct investments, conduct legal analyses, and assist in business development. Collaboration on legal matters occurs with the agency's administrative law group, Legal and Supervision, and with the agency's Chief Legal Officer. Additionally, the group is responsible for handling ISP's role as Sweden's contact point within the EU for screening foreign direct investments.
About Employment at ISP
The employment is permanent and begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date is by agreement. The employment includes an obligation to be placed on the war roster.
To work with us, you must be a Swedish citizen. The position is classified for security purposes, and a security vetting with background check will be conducted before an employment decision is made. Since much of the work involves classified information, the possibility of remote work is very limited.
