Flurkmarks School is a recently renovated school approximately 12 miles outside Umeå with students from pre-K through grade 6. Safety and well-being are two foundational pillars of the school's operations. All staff members share responsibility for all children. We actively work to ensure that all students and staff know each other. This is facilitated through mentor programs, field trip days, and collaboration with various themed activities. Employment Information This position is a full-time substitute contract starting as soon as possible by agreement through June 16, 2027. Your Responsibilities In this role, you will be the classroom teacher for grades K-1. Your task as an elementary school teacher is to plan and deliver instruction based on the curriculum as a classroom teacher, as well as to engage in broader planning with colleagues. You will individually and collaboratively with colleagues monitor, evaluate, and analyze instruction, as well as assess and document students' academic development. You are responsible for creating a safe and inclusive learning environment that supports student achievement. As a teacher, you are responsible for communicating with students and guardians about the student's academic progress. About You You are a clear classroom leader with the ability to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment with structure and context for all students. You are well-versed in the school's policy documents. You differentiate and vary instruction based on student needs. You share your knowledge and experiences to contribute to collaborative learning. An important part of the teacher role is building strong relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. Personal suitability is given significant weight. Requirements Certified elementary school teacher with certification for grades K-3 Have or have applied for teacher licensure Experience working with children and students Fluent Swedish language skills, both spoken and written, and good English skills Valid background check clearance Class B driver's license and access to your own vehicle Interviews are conducted on a rolling basis, so we welcome your application today!
