Ref: 20261908 Job Responsibilities Would you like to make a difference for students who need a smaller setting and close educational support to reach their full potential? Geijerskolan is now seeking an engaged and confident primary school teacher with broad subject qualifications and experience for one of the school's special instruction groups (SU-groups). In this position, you will work with students in grades 4–6 who need special support to succeed in their knowledge development and schooling. As a teacher in the SU-group, you are responsible for teaching multiple subjects and adapt content, teaching methods, and learning environment based on each student's individual needs, abilities, and strengths. You meet students where they are and work purposefully to create security, motivation, and conditions for learning. Through clear structure, strong relationships, and high expectations, you support students' knowledge, social, and personal development. You have overall and long-term responsibility for students' learning and work closely with the student's mentor, special education teacher, student support services, and guardians to create a cohesive and successful school experience. Collaboration and a relational approach are central to the assignment. As a teacher in the City of Malmö, you are building the city of the future every day. With us, you get a meaningful assignment where you have the opportunity to make a real difference for students who need you most. You are part of an engaged and professional team where collegial learning, shared responsibility, and shared vision regarding teaching quality are central. At Geijerskolan, systematic development work is ongoing with a focus on reading and writing development as well as teaching quality – and you are expected to actively contribute to and take responsibility in this work. Qualifications You are a licensed teacher qualified to teach grades 4-6 in the subjects Swedish, mathematics, English, science, and social studies. You have experience working as a teacher with assessment and grading in grade 6. Experience working in an SU-group or resource school is considered a merit. It is also a merit if you have experience with national tests and result analysis, leading or initiating cross-subject instruction, and experience with collegial learning, mentoring, or supervision. You have good insight into and knowledge of the school's governing documents and can use them effectively in your daily work. Furthermore, you have good didactic and pedagogical ability and can therefore lead and organize your work to create a good study environment and learning atmosphere for our students throughout their school day. Based on evidence-based research, you can develop your work and, with good knowledge and practice, work effectively with relevant digital tools. You naturally maintain a professional approach and work for good relationships with our students, their guardians, and all your colleagues at the school. You have very good communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written. Who Are You? You are an engaged and confident teacher with experience, demonstrating clear pedagogical and relational leadership. You have high and realistic expectations for students, work in a structured and purposeful manner, and are experienced in creating a good study environment through clarity, care, and professionalism. You take responsibility for your teaching, continuously reflect on your practice, and use both research and proven experience to develop your work. In your interactions with students, guardians, and colleagues, you are professional, responsive, and clear, and you see collaboration as an obvious part of the teaching assignment.
