Storsjöskolan serves grades 4–9 and is located in Holmsund, approximately 9 miles outside of Umeå. Holmsund is situated in the archipelago with many beautiful natural environments and destinations for excursions. We are a growing community, and the number of students increases every year. Storsjöskolan is one of Umeå Municipality's practice schools, which means we host teacher trainees on their work-integrated learning placements throughout the school year. Employment Information This position is a fixed-term full-time employment starting as soon as possible by agreement through December 18, 2026. Your Responsibilities In this role, you will work as a substitute teacher at the school in Social Studies and Swedish. Your task as an elementary school teacher is to plan and conduct instruction based on the curriculum, serving as a class teacher and also participating in broader planning with colleagues. You will individually and together with colleagues follow up, evaluate, and analyze instruction, as well as assess and document students' learning progress. You are responsible for creating a safe and inclusive learning environment that supports students in achieving their learning goals. As a teacher, you are responsible for informing students and guardians about the student's learning progress. About You You are a clear leader in the classroom with the ability to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment with structure and coherence for all students. You are well-versed in the school's governing documents. You differentiate and vary your instruction based on students' needs. You share your knowledge and experience to contribute to collaborative learning among colleagues. An important part of the teaching role is building strong relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. Personal suitability is weighted heavily. Requirements Educated primary school teacher with certification for grades 4-6 Has or has applied for teacher certification Experience working in a school Flawless knowledge of Swedish language in both speech and writing, and good knowledge of English Valid criminal records clearance We welcome your application!
