In August 2025, we opened a new resource school, and now we are looking for an elementary teacher in after-school care. Take the chance to develop with us! Your Assignment In the role of elementary teacher in after-school care, you work with students with various NPF diagnoses, primarily in grades 1-6. Together with teachers, resource educators, student welfare teams, and the after-school team, you are responsible for students' entire school day, which includes instruction, recess, lunch, and transitions. In close collaboration, you plan and structure the day to create a cohesive, safe, and developmental school day. You work based on the school's clear focus on instruction, where each part of the day contributes to providing students with the conditions to succeed and reach their goals. During the school day, you are a present, active, and supportive educator in the classroom, in small teaching groups, and during recess. After school, you have overall responsibility for after-school activities and are part of the after-school team. Together with the after-school team, you plan, implement, and evaluate activities based on established guidelines. You work with the understanding that after-school care is part of the school's instruction, where activities are planned with a clear pedagogical purpose and connected to the school's themes and focus areas. You contribute to creating safety, well-being, and good conditions for students' social and academic development, while activities are adapted to students' interests, needs, and circumstances. As the sole elementary teacher in after-school care, you have a team leader function where you are responsible for daily structure, information sharing, and leading after-school meetings. You also have an overall assignment to develop and lead the after-school program's operations. You work closely with teachers, special educators, special pedagogues, and the after-school team. You meet regularly to collaborate on students, planning, pedagogical development work, and systematic quality work. Your Experience For this position, you must have: teacher certification as an elementary teacher in after-school care experience working as an elementary teacher in after-school care experience working in a school with lower elementary students experience working with students in need of extra accommodations and special support experience driving and participating in the after-school program's development and quality work good digital competence and experience working with digital pedagogical tools good ability to express yourself well in Swedish orally and in writing. It is advantageous if you also have: experience working at a resource school or in a special teaching group experience leading colleagues and pedagogical work within the after-school program good knowledge of and experience working with children with various NPF diagnoses. In your overall responsibility for after-school activities, you are a safe, clear, and responsive leader who motivates and develops both students and colleagues. You have the ability and interest to lead after-school activities based on made decisions and to delegate work tasks within the after-school team. With good overall perspective, you consider the entire school day and the bigger picture in your actions and decisions, always with students' and the operation's best interests in focus. To thrive in the role, you need to understand the complexity of the assignment. It requires patience, persistence, and a genuine desire to work with students in need of special support, where some may exhibit challenging behaviors. We Offer Älta Resource School is a new operation for students with various NPF diagnoses in grades 1-9. The school opened in August 2025 and has space for approximately 40 students. We are located in the scenic Älta area with proximity to sea, lakes, and forests, as well as good connections to Slussen, Nacka, and Värmdö. The operation is located in part of the newly built Stavsborg School, with its own entrance and beautiful, modern, and purposeful facilities for instruction, after-school care, and lunch. We have high staff density, very satisfied guardians, and close collaboration with Älta's three elementary schools. Parking is offered at a reduced monthly cost.
