Ref: 20261873 Job Responsibilities Are you an elementary school teacher in after-school care looking for a new challenge? Welcome to Mellanheden School! Your main responsibilities will be to develop and ensure the quality of the after-school care program and short-term supervision (LSS). You will work to ensure students achieve the best possible development—both academically and socially—and will actively motivate and encourage students to develop as far as possible in order to meet learning standards. At Mellanheden School, you will have opportunities for professional growth and an exciting assignment. Working together with colleagues and your immediate supervisor, you will have the opportunity to help shape the program's development. You will be led by a principal who prioritizes a positive learning environment for both students and teachers and works toward the inclusion of every student. It is important that our staff feel engaged and work in a learning-centered environment. Qualifications We are seeking a certified after-school care teacher with a strong commitment to creating a safe, developmentally rich, and inclusive learning environment for all students. It is an asset if you have experience working as an elementary school teacher in after-school care. Experience working in adapted elementary education and with students on the autism spectrum is also desirable. We would appreciate if you have training in AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) and TAKK. You have solid knowledge of school guidelines and the ability to implement them in daily work. You also have strong didactic and pedagogical skills and can lead, plan, and organize your work to create a safe and stimulating learning environment for our students. In this position, you will collaborate with classroom teachers and educational support staff and will be responsible for leading activities in the after-school care program. You plan, implement, and evaluate activities and conduct programming adapted to both individual and group needs and circumstances. You work actively to ensure good treatment and to promote equal value for all so that every student feels safe, included, and enjoys their time at school. As a person, you are engaged in your work and operate according to the school's core values. You have strong collaboration skills and build good relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. You are also stress-resilient and handle emotional demands well. You have the ability to interpret different social interactions and signals from students and work in a low-affect manner. It is important that you find strategies to reach each student and strengthen them in their learning and personal development. You are able to support students so they can achieve good results. At the same time, you serve as an experienced and inspiring colleague and conversation partner in pedagogical matters for staff, parents, and others involved. We welcome your application!
