We currently have 19 people who together are responsible for the following areas: Managing Authority for the Interreg Aurora program 2021–2027 Office for Europe Direct Norrbotten Energy and Climate About the Job The County Administrative Board in Norrbotten has been designated to review project reports for Swedish beneficiaries financed by the Aurora program. Your work as an audit officer will involve verifying that the costs declared have actually occurred and that the beneficiaries' reports are correct. You will ensure that measures and costs meet the requirements of both EU and national regulations. Controls are conducted based on an established risk-based audit methodology. Most controls are conducted as administrative reviews where you examine submitted documentation and assess reported costs according to program rules and methods. Controls may also be conducted on-site at beneficiary locations as "on-the-spot" visits. Providing information and advice on financing matters to project stakeholders will also be part of your responsibilities. You may also participate in working groups on development issues. You will be part of the Interreg Aurora team, which currently consists of 26 people in three countries working in different functions within the program. Audit officers in the team are called Controllers. The Controller function consists of Swedish and Finnish Controllers who work together while fulfilling each country's specific mandate. The program language in Interreg Aurora is English. This means we use English in meetings and information sessions. Program documents such as manuals and methods, as well as project progress reports, are written in English. We also use English when creating our checklists in the Nyps2020 system, as everyone in the Aurora team works in the same system. Communication with our Swedish beneficiaries is conducted in Swedish. The position involves some business travel. The work is constantly evolving and based on our mandate, your responsibilities may change over time. You will therefore need to be able to handle change. This simultaneously gives you opportunities to develop and both broaden and deepen your expertise with us. About You We are looking for someone who has: A university degree in economics with a focus on accounting and management, or other education or experience relevant to the position that we consider equivalent Experience in audit and accounting work Good ability to communicate clearly, simply and understandably in both Swedish and English, and to make presentations both orally and in writing in both languages Good administrative skills As a person, you are responsible, thorough and flexible. You have the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and complete the tasks you have started. You are skilled at collaborating and communicating with others and can also work independently with assigned tasks. You are structured and analytical and have the ability to independently evaluate information in order to make well-founded decisions and prioritizations.
