Job Duties We are now recruiting a support assistant for Backadalen's BmSS! Our target group consists of individuals with intellectual and neuropsychiatric functional variations. The residence has nine apartments integrated into a multi-family building. The facility is located in newly built premises at Selma torget, easily accessible by public transportation and close to shops and natural areas. As a support assistant, you will work both independently and together with colleagues to support the residents in their daily lives and contribute to a safe and independent lifestyle. Your role is to create security for the users and give them the opportunity to participate in their daily activities according to their individual circumstances. You will also encourage, support, and motivate them to develop their independence and social participation. The work includes health and medical care services provided on a delegated basis, collaboration with psychiatry, specialist psychiatry, and home healthcare, as well as assistance with everyday tasks such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, and personal hygiene. You will also participate in establishing, implementing, and following up routines and action plans to provide appropriate support based on individual needs. You will work on a schedule with hours during day and evening shifts plus every other weekend. Some work time may occur at other facilities. We schedule shifts using TimeCare. Qualifications We are looking for someone with a degree from the Care and Nursing Program, Support Assistant education, or the Children and Leisure Program with a focus on social or pedagogical work. The education requirement is also met if you have post-secondary specialization in the functional disability field comprising at least 200 vocational credits, 120 higher education credits, or a combination equivalent to at least four semesters of full-time studies. Alternatively, 60 higher education credits and at least two years of experience working with support and services for people with functional disabilities. The education should have relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care, or other education that the employer deems equivalent. Communication is an important part of the work, which requires you to have passed Swedish 1 or Swedish as a Second Language 1. If you do not meet the Swedish language requirements, you may be offered to take a language test through test administrator Educateit. It is a requirement that you have work experience within the target groups of neuropsychiatry, psychiatry, and intellectual disability. You must also have documented experience working within LSS and social documentation. In addition, it is a requirement that you have experience working with challenging behavior.
