GMP-Responsible Pharmacist – Extemporaneous Preparation & 3D Printing

AtrimusRx is seeking an experienced pharmacist with strong expertise in GMP and extemporaneous manufacturing who is ready to take GMP responsibility for our 3D printing operations focused on individually tailored medications. This is a central role for someone with a solid pharmaceutical and quality foundation, who is also driven by development and the opportunity to make a tangible difference for patients. At AtrimusRx, pharmaceutical quality, technology, and development come together – with the patient's needs as our starting point. Why do we work with 3D printing of medications? Not all patients fit into the doses and formulations that are commercially available. This is especially true for children, where medication needs and dosing can look very different than for adults. In practice, this can mean that tablets need to be divided or crushed, or that capsule contents need to be mixed with food or drink for a child to receive their prescribed treatment. We believe there should be better options. With 3D printing of individually tailored medications, we work to be able to manufacture medications in a dose, strength, and formulation adapted to each individual patient's needs from the start. The goal is to reduce the need to manipulate medications after the fact that were not originally designed for the patient. For us, 3D printing is therefore not about the technology itself. The technology is a tool to solve a real problem for patients, families, and healthcare providers. This is the operation you will help quality assure and develop. About the role As GMP-responsible pharmacist, you will have a central function in our extemporaneous operations. You will work closely with our operational manufacturing and our pharmacists and are responsible for developing and maintaining robust quality work as the operations grow and evolve. Your work tasks include: responsibility for and further development of GMP work within the operation ensuring that processes, manufacturing, and documentation meet applicable quality and regulatory requirements responsibility for deviation management, CAPA, change control, and risk assessments driving and following up on qualification and validation of equipment, processes, and manufacturing methods developing, reviewing, and implementing SOPs, instructions, and other governing documentation ensuring structured and continuous quality work contributing quality expertise in the development and implementation of new substances, formulations, and manufacturing processes assisting with regulatory inspections and regulatory quality matters continuously identifying and driving improvements in processes, work methods, and quality systems We are looking for someone who is a licensed pharmacist or pharmaceutical technician and has: documented previous experience with GMP responsibility solid practical experience working according to GMP experience with extemporaneous manufacturing good experience with pharmaceutical quality systems and GMP documentation experience with deviation management, CAPA, change control, and risk management experience with qualification and validation good ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into practical and well-functioning processes Previous experience with 3D printing is not a requirement. What matters is that you have the right pharmaceutical and GMP expertise, as well as the curiosity and willingness to learn and develop in a new area. About AtrimusRx AtrimusRx works with complex aspects of pharmaceutical supply, including drug shortages, licensed medicines, pharmaceutical distribution, and extemporaneous manufacturing. AtrimusRx is Sweden's first open-care pharmacy that extemporaneously manufactures medications from the beginning, from APIs. Within our extemporaneous operations, we work with 3D printing of individually tailored medications to enable doses, strengths, and formulations adapted to the patient's needs. This is particularly significant for children, where available medications are not always adapted to their needs and tablets therefore may need to be divided or crushed or capsule contents mixed with food. Our ambition is for the medication to be manufactured from the start based on the patient's prescribed dose and needs. As GMP-responsible pharmacist, you will become an important part of the work to develop individually tailored pharmaceutical manufacturing that can make a real difference for patients. Terms of Employment Full-time employment, 40 hours per week. Fixed hours 08:00–17:00. The position is located at AtrimusRx in Sollentuna. Remote work is not applicable as the role involves on-site work in our pharmacy and manufacturing operations.
