Description
Do you want to work at the forefront of GIS, open source, and AI – while contributing to concrete societal benefits?
We're looking for you to help develop modern geodata solutions for the municipality's operations.
With the municipality as your customer base, you make a difference every day. Our services and expertise support everything from municipal operations and companies to residents and external partners, giving you a central role in the municipality's development and service within our area of responsibility.
We're in an exciting development phase where we're investing in open platforms, automation, integrations, and AI-supported development.
You'll become part of the Map Unit in Mora, a small and efficient service-based unit within the Environmental and Building Administration focused on GIS and surveying. Our work is characterized by collaboration, short decision paths, curiosity, and strong commitment. We also value community and well-being, and we occasionally meet outside work and enjoy Mora's rich nature and activity offerings together.
About the Role
With us, you'll have a varied role combining technical development work with business-focused problem-solving. You'll develop smart GIS applications, create data flows and integrations, and contribute to how geodata is used to make better decisions across the organization. The work involves both significant independence and close collaboration in projects with engaged colleagues, business experts, and partnerships with other municipalities.
You'll be part of an environment where technology creates real value in society and where we actively promote open source, innovation, and modern working methods. There are excellent opportunities to develop within GIS, integrations, and AI, while sharing your expertise through training and support to the organization.
Technology and Work Areas
We have a clear focus on FME, open source, and open working methods.
We see open source as more than a tool – it's an approach where collaboration is central.
Examples of technologies and work areas you'll encounter:
FME Form and FME Flow for integration and automation
GeoServer, Origo, and QGIS in our GIS platform
PostgreSQL/PostGIS for database management
GitHub for version control, documentation, and open collaboration
work with APIs and web services
GIS analysis and geodata processing
Integrations and automation
AI in everyday work and development work
work with IoT and 3D
educating and supporting operations
work with geodata such as operational and authority data and open data
Qualifications
You have a background in geographic information technology and systems integration or similar experience, and an interest in working close to operations.
We're looking for someone with experience working in FME Form and/or FME Flow.
If you also have experience from municipal operations and knowledge of geodata and related processes within the municipal sector, we see that as a major advantage.
You may be early in your career or have extensive experience – what matters most is your drive and willingness to develop and see the possibilities with new technology.
We believe you:
have an understanding of GIS development and systems integration
are technically curious and solution-oriented
have an understanding of continuity work and security in general
want to contribute to the development of working methods and technology
have pedagogical ability and enjoy sharing knowledge
thrive working both independently and in projects
With us you get:
work with technology that creates real value in society
be part of an environment that invests in open source and innovation
opportunity to develop within GIS, integrations, and AI
varied tasks together with engaged colleagues
We view professional development positively and encourage you to participate in courses and training that strengthen both your own learning and the organization's development.
