We are now seeking an experienced professional with the ability to work strategically while also providing advisory support in more operational geotechnical work, for our Project and Environmental Management unit within the Community Development sector. Kungälv Municipality comprises several geotechnically sensitive areas. To be better prepared for the future, the municipality needs to strengthen its expertise in geotechnics and geohydrology. The position is strategically oriented and involves contributing qualified expertise to the municipality's development, planning, and investment projects. You will serve as expert support on soil-related matters and have an important role as an advisor, reviewer, and client manager for external consultants and their deliverables. Work Tasks Your role includes, among other things: Serving as an expert advisor at both strategic and operational levels in geotechnics, geology, and geohydrology to project managers, unit managers, and other functions within the municipality. Commissioning, reviewing, quality-assuring, and following up geotechnical, geological, and geohydrological investigations and documents from consultants. Assessing risks, conditions, and consequences related to soil conditions and contamination situations. Contributing to the development of the municipality's governing documents and procedures in this field. Dialogue with authorities, developers, and other external stakeholders in your role as the municipality's expert representative. Qualifications We are seeking someone who has: An academic degree in geotechnics, geology, hydrogeology, or another relevant field. Multi-year experience working with geotechnical issues. Good experience commissioning, reviewing, and following up consultant assignments. Good knowledge of relevant legislation and governing regulations. Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and good ability to understand and express yourself in English. Class B driver's license. Meritorious Experience working in or close to the public sector. Competence and experience working with contaminated sites. Competence and experience in rock engineering.
