We will entrust you with: - management of Riga City Municipality's geographic information system GEO RIGA; - providing support to municipal structural units in the creation of spatial databases, correct data entry and maintenance; - organizing the integration of new spatial data sets into the municipality's central database, including data and products obtained through aerial laser scanning processes; - ensuring processing, adaptation, updating, quality control and publication of geo-spatial data available to the municipality in the GEO RIGA portal's restricted access and public environment; - creating and maintaining specific combinations of various data and their attributes, thematic maps and applications, using available software and tools for data analysis and other needs; - providing recommendations for improving GEO RIGA operations and functionality and informing about identified issues; - within the scope of competence, correcting identified errors in data publication solutions; - creating new and modifying existing instructions and methodological documentation on geo-spatial information data maintenance, thematic map and application creation, solution implementation and publication. We expect from you: - higher education in geomatics, geography, information technologies or other equivalent field. You may be a final year student; - professional experience of 1 year corresponding to the position's competencies; - knowledge of types of geo-spatial information, data formats, origins, relevance and applications of spatial data; - knowledge and good practical skills in working with GIS software (ESRI ArcGIS platform products and open-source software QGIS) and databases; - ability to perform analytical work (research, analysis of results, preparation of conclusions) within the scope of position competencies; - ability to independently solve non-standard situations and find the most effective solutions; - state language proficiency at the highest level; - English language proficiency for obtaining technical and other information about work software; - communication and interpersonal skills, accuracy; - ability to present information and argumentation skills; - ability to organize and lead work groups, presentation and planning skills; - willingness to continuously improve existing knowledge and acquire new knowledge.
