About the role In international contexts, such as within the UN, EU, and NATO, the position is called Gender Advisor (GENAD). FM has been working for some time with gender equality issues in several areas, including personal equipment, work environment, and gender equality in military operations and missions. Here at the staff, you are responsible for gender equality integration and ensure that a gender equality perspective is integrated from the planning stage in operations. You should have experience with gender equality integration, be comfortable with developing methods and processes, and be motivated by creating structure, clarity, and value for others. As a GENAD, you will be responsible for the processes for gender equality integration at CFL. The work involves close collaboration with many colleagues. Please read more about us and our operations here: https://www.forsvarsmakten.se/om-forsvarsmakten/organisation/stridskrafter/cyberforsvar/om-cyberforsvar/ Main responsibilities: Advice to the Commander of CFL on gender equality in military operations including UN Resolution 1325 Develop processes and working methods together with other staff at CFL and subject matter experts to integrate gender equality perspectives in military operations Support to other CFL staff with expertise in gender equality in military operations, primarily within operations and defense planning Representation in cooperation internally and externally with, for example, the ministry, other authorities, and in international contexts Cooperation with other advisors and case handlers working with gender equality in the Armed Forces, particularly with the Defense Staff advisor on gender equality in military operations at the military strategic level Convening and coordinating resource persons for gender equality in military operations (Gender Focal Points) within CFL We are looking for you who meet the following requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent officer training Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish & English Relevant upper secondary school diploma or experience that the employer considers equivalent Very good computer skills It is a merit if you have: Master's degree in a subject relevant to the position, such as social sciences, gender studies, human rights Experience as an advisor on gender equality in military operations (GENAD) or as a Gender Focal Point (GFP) in the Armed Forces, NATO, or an international organization Current and relevant previous work experience in the Armed Forces or another authority or organization within total defense and security matters Current and relevant previous work experience with FM's or NATO's military planning processes, preferably at the military strategic or operational level Current and relevant previous work experience in international humanitarian law/laws of war Who are you? HKV has approximately 1,000 employees – both professional officers and civilian experts. As of January 1, 2023, HKV consists of the Defense Staff, Operations Command, Military Intelligence and Security Service, as well as HKV's staff division and independent supervisory units. Employment with us involves placement in a security classification. Swedish citizenship is normally required. A security clearance with a register check will be conducted before employment in accordance with Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act. Employment comes with an obligation to be mobilized for war. Employment also includes an obligation to serve abroad. The scope of this varies depending on the type of position.
