To accomplish our mission, we have approximately 500 colleagues, primarily located in the newly renovated facilities of the Technical Committee Building on Kungsholmen. Welcome to Us The Urban Environment Department consists of approximately 90 employees. The department is responsible for the urban environment on streets, squares and parks – an important role in creating an attractive, safe and secure environment for our residents. The department consists of 8 units, and this position belongs to the Supervision and Operations unit, which currently consists of 18 dedicated employees who perform important work with direct connection to citizens' daily lives. Within the unit's mandate lies inspection and management of the urban environment. The unit is also responsible for inspecting street operations and managing about ten operational agreements. The unit also houses the city's own bicycle service, which consists of three operations technicians and one coordinator, plus one street warden who will now become two. Your Role As a street warden, you will cycle and walk through selected parts of Stockholm's inner city, inspecting, reporting and addressing minor faults and deficiencies in the urban environment. This could include moving minor obstacles, removing litter, repairing potholes and trimming protruding vegetation, as well as reporting faults in the street environment to the city's fault reporting system, "Tyck-till". You will collaborate with the other street warden and the city's three bicycle wardens (bicycle service), as well as work together with the unit's bicycle service coordinator and street inspector. Together with these dedicated colleagues, you contribute to ensuring that Stockholm residents and visitors encounter a safe, clean and functioning urban environment. You will work from our office in the Technical Committee Building on Kungsholmen, and the city's streets and squares are your workplace. Transportation is by e-bike/velomobile. Your Competence and Experience We are looking for someone who has: - completed upper secondary education or work experience we assess as equivalent, such as bicycle courier, cycling mail carrier, sanitation work, environmental work etc. - experience from service professions - extensive experience cycling and walking in Stockholm - good local knowledge of Stockholm's inner city - a B driving license - good computer skills - good physical fitness, as the work is physically demanding - good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing It is a merit to have: - experience with operations management - good knowledge of English in speech and writing You are a representative of the city and will meet many people during your workday.
