Ref: 20261841 Assignment focused on safety and health for seniors Do you want to make a difference for Malmö's seniors? Are you passionate about promoting health, preventing illness, and creating safety in people's daily lives? Then this might be the position for you! At the Health Promotion Section within the Health and Prevention Department, we work to strengthen health and quality of life for Malmö's senior residents. We are now looking for an engaged colleague to join our team working with physical group activities and safety and health conversations. Job Responsibilities A central part of the assignment is to plan and conduct physical group activities at the city's meeting places and to motivate and inspire seniors to engage in physical activity. The activities promote health, prevent falls, and strengthen seniors' ability to live an active and independent life. You will lead activities such as: Balance training Balance school Balance walks You will also conduct home visits to Malmö residents who apply for safety alarms via e-service and to those who already have safety alarms. The purpose is to inform about support, activities, and services that Malmö City offers to promote safety, health, and independence. During the visits, you listen to the individual's needs and life situation to provide relevant information and guidance. You help the person find the right support and refer them to, for example, meeting places for seniors, handyman services, associations, or other activities. Qualifications Requirements: Licensed physiotherapist or licensed occupational therapist (180 credits) Experience working with seniors Experience planning and conducting physical group activities Knowledge of and experience in health promotion work and healthy lifestyles Good Swedish in speech and writing Able to cycle as the position involves traveling between home visits and activities Meritorious: Experience working according to the FINGER model Experience planning and conducting health-promoting physical activities for seniors Experience providing individual support and guidance regarding body, movement, balance, exercise, and healthy lifestyles Experience in fall prevention and health promotion work focusing on strengthening elderly people's physical capacity, independence, and well-being Great emphasis will be placed on your personal abilities. You have a calm and respectful demeanor and a good ability to meet people where they are. You are proactive, creative, and see opportunities to develop working methods and activities based on the target group's needs. About the Workplace The Health, Care, and Social Services Administration's health promotion and prevention work is directed at both the general population and specific target groups, with a focus on collaboration to reach seniors in Malmö according to their needs. The elderly population is growing, which requires new working methods to meet future challenges. The goal is for Malmö residents to maintain good health and quality of life and thus delay the need for care and social services.
