What do we offer? The Motor Skills and Training Center is a region-wide specialist operation within Rehabilitation & Health, a unit of Region Stockholm with specialized expertise in movement disorders and physical activity. We provide services in motor skills, physical activity, and training for individuals with movement disorders, with the goal of creating conditions for patients to function optimally in their daily lives. The clinic features both a gym and treatment rooms for visits, individually or in groups. In addition to our training teams for children and adults, we also have a team working with eating and swallowing difficulties and a team working with hand function. We work in interdisciplinary teams consisting of physical therapists, instructors, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, dietitians, administrators, and unit managers. The Motor Skills and Training Center is located at Sabbatsbergs Hospital in easily accessible facilities with good transportation. What is specific/unique about this position? In your role with us, you will primarily work in our training team for adults, but the position also involves strengthening our training team for children when needed. The Motor Skills and Training Center is a region-wide specialist operation within Rehabilitation & Health, which means you will meet patients with complex movement disorders and use your specialist expertise in clinical work. The work includes functional assessments, planning and implementation of individually tailored training and treatment including follow-ups. The work also involves creating training programs and action plans together with the patient and their network. As a physical therapist with us, you also work with information, counseling, supervision, collaboration, and education for the patient's network as well as for colleagues in healthcare who contact us for support regarding motor skills and training. The Motor Skills and Training Center works long-term with the goal of making the patient and their network independent in their training, first in our facilities and then at home, school/work, or at training facilities elsewhere. Skills development is a natural and integral part of the position, with good opportunities to develop within our specialist field. Duties We are looking for you—a licensed physical therapist with clinical experience and/or a particular interest in working with individuals with movement disorders. Experience in rehabilitation or work with children, adolescents, and adults with disabilities is a merit, but you are also welcome to apply if you are newly graduated. The work involves assessing the patient's function and abilities, planning, implementing, and evaluating training measures based on goals set together with the patient and their network. You will document in TakeCare and also work in Alltid Öppet, which requires good computer skills and comfort with digital work methods. We are looking for someone who is proactive, flexible, and has a strong interest in people. You are motivated by finding effective activities for individuals with motor difficulties and enjoy working in a structured manner, both independently and in a team. You have good collaboration skills, are relationship-oriented, and have strong verbal communication abilities—both with patients, relatives, and colleagues. Requirements License as a physical therapist/physiotherapist Merits Previous work with rehabilitation patient populations Experience with CPUP. Employment Terms Temporary position 100%. Start as soon as possible and initially until June 2027. Some possibility for extension in the unit, but significant possibility for extension within Rehabilitation & Health.
