Does this sound exciting? Apply for the position today! Work Duties As a functional planner, you have a central role in the development of future healthcare facilities in Region Västmanland. You work in the early stages of building projects and are responsible for translating operational needs into well-developed documentation for renovation and new construction decisions. To succeed in the role, you need to have a holistic perspective and be able to see how the design of facilities affects operations, working environment, and patient flow. In the role, you need to be able to weigh different perspectives and limit or prioritize requests based on, for example, costs, national standards, or other overarching conditions. Together with the operational units, you identify and document functional and operational requirements and ensure that the solutions are sustainable long-term. You serve as the link between operations and the building process by translating operational needs for facility changes and functional requirements into a language and documentation that project managers and other project members can work with. You will collaborate with building project managers, property managers, healthcare staff, and external consultants to determine needs, patient flows, floor plans, etc. To support you, there is a well-established planning process, and together with your colleagues, you work to create solutions that meet operational needs while contributing to sustainable development of Region Västmanland's property portfolio. About the Workplace Regional Properties within Region Västmanland is an independent operation whose main mission is to provide maximum benefit to the Region's operations regarding facility supply based on sustainable societal development. Region Västmanland owns a property portfolio of approximately 450,000 square meters (BTA), which is managed, developed, and operated by Regional Properties. The portfolio consists primarily of healthcare facilities and includes four hospitals (Västerås, Köping, Sala, and Fagersta), health centers, psychiatric clinics, a folk university, and administrative facilities. Regional Properties consists of a management unit and a project and operations unit, with approximately 90 people working there in total. We develop facilities and properties for new and existing customers through both renovations and new construction. You have experience working with functional planning or similar work in building projects where operational needs have been translated into functional facility solutions. If you have education or experience in design or project management, preferably in building projects, that is a merit. We also view it positively if you are an architect who has worked with healthcare facilities. We also consider it a merit if you have experience with facility issues as a representative for healthcare operations. It is important that you have good computer skills and work seamlessly in Office 365. Experience with Bluebeam, Agresso, or FM Access is a merit. To succeed in the role, you need good ability to formulate and express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. The position is located at our Västerås office and the work is regional, so a B-class driver's license is a requirement. You work in a structured manner, take responsibility for driving your work forward, and have the ability to make well-reasoned assessments even when different interests need to be balanced.
