Job Description
As a probation program inspector, you will be part of a program team of approximately ten colleagues. You will work with treatment programs for clients under probation supervision. The program activities aim to prevent recidivism and are therefore conducted through comprehensive manual-based programs for clients under ongoing monitoring. Programs are delivered individually, and your main responsibilities include planning, leading, developing, and following up on program activities in collaboration with probation inspectors and other program leaders.
The manual-based programs are delivered with high quality and according to evidence-based practice principles. They are primarily based on cognitive behavioral therapy and social learning theory. We use programs targeting criminality, violence issues, sexual offenses, and intimate partner violence.
The probation service offers several programs, meaning program leaders simultaneously lead different programs. In addition to program delivery, your role includes administrative tasks and documentation. Your employment will begin with foundational training in program delivery and the manual-based OTO-Prism program. You are expected to complete the program leader trainings included in the assignment.
To thrive in this role, it is important that you take initiative to foster good collaboration both within your own team and with others at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service. The team works with clients individually in programs but collaborates extensively and supports one another. We therefore seek someone who can work both independently and as part of a team, working toward the vision "Better on the way out." As a probation program inspector, you will also receive continuous group supervision.
Qualifications
We seek someone who is confident, stable, and has good self-awareness. You have a good understanding of how people acquire knowledge and adapt your communication style to the recipient's circumstances. In your professional practice, you demonstrate sound judgment, integrity, and a structured approach to work. You can independently plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively. As a probation inspector, you need excellent collaboration skills and the ability to communicate clearly. You should also have the physical capacity to act physically if the situation requires it.

We seek candidates who have:
An academic degree (at least bachelor's level), preferably in behavioral sciences or another academic field combined with experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant
Strong ability to express yourself clearly in both spoken and written Swedish
Class B driver's license
It is also meritorious to have:
Well-documented work experience in corrections, social services, psychiatry, or care work
Relevant language skills
Client-facing corrections experience
Experience with documentation work
Experience with CBT-based interventions
Current experience in relevant treatment work
Other relevant training with a treatment focus that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant for the position
