About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Job Description As a probation officer, you are responsible for conditionally released clients and clients sentenced to supervised probation who are under supervision. Probation services also manage intensive monitoring with electronic supervision, such as electronic ankle bracelets, and community service. Work within probation consists largely of investigation work, conducting risk and needs assessments, and developing plans for the implementation of sentences. You also work with leading treatment programs for probation clients. As a probation officer, you actively participate in influence work directed at clients, including through structured conversations based on CBT, motivating participation in program activities, and assisting in release preparation for clients in custody. Your duties also include conducting personal investigations and providing statements to court, proposing appropriate sanctions. Qualifications We are looking for someone who is confident, stable, and has good self-awareness. You have a good understanding of how people acquire knowledge and adapt your way of communicating to the recipient's circumstances. In your professional practice, you must have good judgment and integrity. As a probation officer, you need to have good collaboration skills and be able to communicate clearly. You must also have a physical condition that allows you to act physically if the situation requires it.
