Johan-Olovskolan in Horndal is an F-9 school with approximately 220 students. Johan-Olovskolan is located in the northern part of Avesta municipality, close to green spaces, a swimming hall, and a library. The school has an after-school care program. At Johan-Olovskolan, we believe that collaboration and collegial learning are key to developing and strengthening the competence of our staff. Therefore, our employees work in work teams and subject teams where each person plays an important role in our collective work to develop school activities. 1 position(s). We are seeking a recreational pedagogue who wants to help further develop our after-school care program at Johan-Olovskolan. The after-school center is an important unit at our school where our students, both before and after school hours, should encounter meaningful and developmental activities. Since the after-school center is also a learning environment, we place great emphasis on anchoring activities in the curriculum document Lgr22, especially chapter four of the curriculum which covers after-school activities. Care, development, and learning are the curriculum-based guiding principles that after-school activities should be based on. Through systematic planning and in close collaboration with educators in preschool and the school's lower and intermediate grades, you shall provide students the opportunity to interact in a safe and knowledge-developing environment. As a recreational pedagogue, you shall be responsible for teaching and activities in the after-school center, making use of students' curiosity and giving them the opportunity to develop their interest in and ability to communicate through various forms of expression. You shall collaborate with school activities during the school day, build and maintain positive relationships with students and their guardians. Our students should feel safe and have a conducive learning environment in all school activities. They should meet professional adults who guide and provide students with fundamental security and who stimulate and motivate them toward meaningful and enriching development. They should also be given the opportunity to develop their social competence and ability to interact with other students in different contexts. We are therefore seeking someone with pedagogical insight who is secure, structured, and clear in your own leadership. Work as a recreational pedagogue involves close collaboration with students and guardians as well as professional cooperation with teachers and staff at the school. As a recreational pedagogue, you must therefore have the ability to establish positive relationships and build trust between yourself and the students and their guardians as well as school staff. You should be able to take initiative in daily work and contribute ideas that develop the program. As of 2019-07-01, a teaching credential is required for a permanent position.
