We are now seeking an engaged youth recreation leader for our recreation center in the City.
We are looking for someone with a strong focus on youth who wants to help develop safe, inclusive, and inspiring meeting places for young people. With us, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in young people's daily lives through relationship-building work, creative activities, and exciting projects.
Qualifications
You will contribute to making the City recreation center a well-functioning and well-visited meeting place. You will meet young people using a coaching approach in order to support their ideas and projects and guide them toward meaningful leisure time and a rich cultural life.
Within the recreation center unit, you will also collaborate with other meeting places and recreation centers for both large and small events as well as during school holiday activities. Collaboration with other actors, both municipal operations and civil society, is an important part of the assignment.
Your schedule includes regular daytime, evening, and weekend shifts.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who:
Has a youth recreation leader diploma from a folk high school, or alternatively other relevant post-secondary education combined with experience working with our target group (young people aged 12–18 years).
Has good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
It is advantageous if you:
Have previously worked with our target group (young people aged 12–18 years).
Have documented knowledge of norm criticism, gender equality, and participation.
Have training in coaching methods.
Have been engaged as a volunteer in an activity or organization.
As a person, you are driven and well-organized. You take your own initiative and enjoy organizing things, both independently and with others. You spread warmth and joy and show that you care about the recreation center's visitors. Additionally, you are a good listener. You have good collaboration skills and find it easy to make contact with new people, both young people and other professionals. For us, it is also important that you are someone who wants to do things together with the young people who visit the recreation center. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

About the Workplace
The Workplace - The Recreation Center Unit
Under the Recreation Department's recreation center unit, approximately 20 recreation centers operate throughout the city with activities directed at the target group aged 12–18 years. The recreation centers offer meaningful leisure time for young people and help provide children and young people with the opportunity to be included and engaged in their leisure time.
