The role of youth leader with responsibility for youth participation combines relationship-building work, development issues, and field work with a focus on young people's needs and opportunities. In Krokom Municipality, we have youth centers in four locations: Föllinge, Änge, Ås, and Krokom. Within Culture and Leisure, we employ 17 permanent staff members, but we also have project and part-time employees. The Culture and Leisure Department is part of the Growth area within the Municipal Administration. All activities within the Growth area have a responsibility to contribute to sustainable growth in Krokom Municipality. This includes the departments of Business, Property, Planning and Traffic, Waste, Water and Sewerage, and Learning Center. The Municipal Administration serves three boards: the Municipal Council, the Building and Environmental Board, and the Community Development Board. The administration employs approximately 135 employees and is divided into the Staff area, the Building and Environment area, and the Community Development and Growth area. A day as a youth leader with responsibility for youth participation No two days are the same, and that's exactly what makes this job so exciting. Part of the work involves meeting students in the municipality's schools. For example, you might start the day with a student council where you lead workshops on democracy and participation, support students in developing their ideas, and provide them with tools to influence issues that matter to them. Through your work, you contribute to strengthening young people's voices in matters that affect their daily lives. Back at the office, you follow up on ongoing projects with your colleagues, plan activities, and coordinate work with the municipality's participation forum for young people. You prepare reports, maintain contact with partners, and ensure that young people's perspectives are included in the municipality's development work. The role also offers great opportunities to develop the youth club and youth center activities. A couple of days a week, the youth club opens for middle school students, where you create activities together with the children, build relationships, and capture ideas and needs. At the youth center, you meet high school and upper secondary students in a safe, drug-free, and inclusive environment where community, participation, and personal development are in focus. Here you get to help shape the activities based on young people's interests and contribute to creating meaningful leisure time. Certain evenings and weekends, you may also participate in the municipality's field work. Then you meet young people where they are, for example at events, meeting places, and out in the community. Work focused on relationship-building, creating a sense of security, and a preventive perspective where presence and good adult contacts make a difference. In this role, you combine the best of two worlds: you get to work strategically on developing youth participation while meeting young people directly in their everyday lives each week. Your competence We are looking for you to work with young people and youth participation in Krokom Municipality. You have good collaboration skills and find it easy to connect with people of all ages. We are looking for someone who can take initiative and feels great responsibility for developing the activities. Requirements You are trained as a youth leader, or have another education and/or experience that the employer considers equivalent or relevant Ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing Good computer skills Driver's license for a passenger car We require an extract from the police record Merits Experience working with similar activities Experience leading training sessions Other information This is a permanent position at 100% with start date by agreement. Work takes place during both day and evening hours. Weekend and night work may occur. Our youth centers are open 2-3 evenings per week between 18.00-21.00. We offer wellness hours or wellness allowance as well as a benefits portal.
