Are you a dedicated leisure activities leader who wants to make a difference for children and young people? We are now recruiting a new colleague who wants to help develop our operations at Vängåvan, a unique meeting place for children, youth, and families on Stora Essingen. About Us Vängåvan's activities consist of park play, leisure programs, and a youth center, and are run as a parent cooperative by the association Vängåvans Vänner. We are located in the middle of a leafy play park on Stora Essingen with climbing structures, park facilities, and a splash pool. You can easily reach us by bus and light rail. We provide leisure activities for students in grades 4–6 and currently have approximately 200 enrolled children. In addition to our leisure program, we run a youth center one to two evenings per week, have evening open hours once a week, and keep the park play area open all weekdays. We work closely with local schools, associations, and businesses to create a safe, enjoyable, and developmentally stimulating leisure experience for children and young people. We value community, creativity, learning, and joy. We are now seeking an additional colleague who wants to be part of our committed team. Responsibilities We are looking for someone who is confident, positive, and energetic and who is passionate about children's and young people's development. As a leisure activities leader, you will, among other things: Plan and conduct activities, games, and projects for children and young people. Lead sports, creative, and group activities. Work according to Vängåvan's values to create a safe and inclusive program. Participate in planning, documentation, follow-up, and evaluation. Build good relationships with children, young people, parents, colleagues, and partners. Contribute to developing the program together with your team. We are looking for someone who enjoys being active with the children and who is happy to participate in everything from ball games and play to crafts, creative activities, and board games. We are looking for someone who: Has documented experience working with children and young people. Is a confident and clear leader. Has a pedagogical approach and works with low-stress methods. Is responsible, flexible, and solution-oriented. Enjoys leading both small and large groups. Has good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish. Can handle basic cooking, kitchen routines, and hygiene procedures. Special Merits Knowledge of French. Craftsmanship, sewing, or other creative work. Experience with kitchen work. Interest in sports, play, and movement. Experience in pedagogical or social work. Experience with camp activities. Ongoing or completed pedagogical education. Additional language skills beyond Swedish. About the Position The position comprises 60% with good opportunity for additional hours. Work is scheduled five days per week and consists mainly of afternoon shifts plus 0–2 morning shifts per week. Working hours vary between 09:00 and 20:00. There is an opportunity for extended employment through: Temporary positions in our evening program. Extra morning shifts. Work with weekend activities and facility rentals. The evening program consists of a youth center 1–2 evenings per week and evening open park play for students in grades 4–6. Start date is by agreement, earliest September 1st.
