We are now seeking a committed employee for the Community Activity Centers unit in Malmö. You will be based at Lindängen but may also work at one of the other community activity centers. The work is multifaceted, and we are looking for someone who wants to make a real difference in strengthening the living conditions of children and young people in Malmö. The main responsibilities will involve planning, leading, and carrying out activities at the community activity center. The activities are developed based on wishes from Malmö residents. You will also work on collaboration and developing partnerships with local and external actors as well as residents in the area. Work is conducted both individually and in groups together with colleagues and other partners. You will also work with outreach activities and with self-organized and community residents. Some evening and weekend duty is included in the position.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with post-secondary education such as recreation leader, social pedagogue, social science, behavioral science, or other relevant higher education. It is advantageous if you have education in children's rights or project management.
You must have at least 2 years of experience conducting cultural activities with children and young people in groups. You must also have experience with administrative tasks.
It is advantageous if you have experience with area-based work, children's rights, and collaboration with internal/external actors, as well as language skills in one of Malmö's major languages. A driver's license is a requirement.
To succeed in the role, you need to be good at building trustful and professional relationships with children, young people, adults, and other key actors. You should be curious and have an interest in working with the target group. Beyond this, we are looking for someone with good collaboration skills, who is responsible and communicative. You have a norm-critical approach and are inclusive and fair, and you know how to set boundaries without being too strict. You engage with the children and activities, you are helpful, stress-resilient, and secure. As a person, you are responsive and creative and have the ability to find solutions when challenges arise.
About the Workplace
The Culture Administration currently operates six Community Activity Centers in Lindängen, Hermodsdal, Apelgård, Holma Kroksbäck at Munkhätteskolan and at Stenkulaskolan. The Community Activity Centers use the school facilities and offer free activities to residents in the area of all ages. Activities are offered before, during, and after school hours. The operations are based on the needs and wishes of Malmö residents and work takes place in close dialogue with residents in the areas based on a rights-based approach. The activities are characterized by diversity, human rights, and trust in Malmö residents. Great emphasis is placed on people's opportunities for influence and participation. Some evening and weekend duty is included in the position. The Community Activity Centers are part of Cultural Events and Meeting Places within the Culture Administration, a department that has the privilege of working closely and in many cases together with Malmö residents.
