We hope you will enjoy working with us! About the job Bokenäs School is a smaller unit with approximately 165 students from preschool class through grade 6. The school is located on Bokenäset, about two miles west of Uddevalla, in an environment that provides excellent conditions for an active and varied school day. The school's location creates good opportunities for a stimulating learning environment with space for nature studies, movement, and play. Job responsibilities As a leisure assistant with us, you will have the opportunity to help create a safe, enjoyable, and meaningful school day and leisure time for our students. You work together with licensed teachers in the after-school program and other colleagues to carry out activities, support students in their social development, and contribute to a good study environment. The role includes close collaboration with other staff, students, and guardians. You are a present and active adult during the student's entire school day, both during school hours and in the after-school program. Who we are looking for We are looking for someone who is a trustworthy adult with good collaborative skills. As a person, you are positive, engaged, and have an easy way of building good relationships with both children and adults. You meet people with empathy and understanding, and you have the ability to always put students' needs and safety first. Since the school is a dynamic environment, it is important that you are flexible, solution-focused, and able to adapt to changing situations. To succeed in this role, you must be: Present and relationship-building: You are a trustworthy role model who sees and meets each student. Communicative and proactive: You are comfortable taking instructions, collaborating, and jumping in where needed. Flexible and organized: You can stay calm even when plans need to change quickly. Qualifications: Upper secondary education. Meritorious Training as a student assistant or leisure leader. Experience working with students in need of accommodations and special support. Knowledge of low-arousal approaches. This position is a temporary assignment until December 31, 2026, with possible extension.
