Police Region North is the largest region by area. The region consists of the four northernmost counties in Sweden and is organized into four police districts: Jämtland, Norrbotten, Västerbotten, and Västernorrland, which together are divided into 12 local police areas. Additionally, there are three regional units: the operative unit, the intelligence unit, and the investigation unit, a regional office, and national departments represented in the region to support police operations.
Local Police Area Southern Lapland is part of the Västerbotten Police District. Within the local police area, there are enforcement and crime prevention activities, investigation teams, and support and service functions. Local Police Area Southern Lapland includes six municipalities with permanent investigators in three of them: Storuman, Vilhelmina, and Lycksele.
We are now looking for you to work as an Investigation Leader in the Local Police Area Southern Lapland with placement in Storuman or Vilhelmina.

DUTIES
In your role as Investigation Leader, you will be primarily responsible for exercising leadership within the investigation process in consultation with the group manager. This means you will, among other things, be responsible for:
• Making decisions within or outside preliminary investigation in accordance with your authorization/delegation
• Providing leadership, support, and coaching to investigators within the local police area
• Coordinating and creating an overall picture of ongoing investigations
• Working closely with the Prosecutor's Office
• Ensuring that operations are conducted in accordance with the Police Authority's intentions and directives according to applicable legislation, regulations, and other rules
• Participating in training initiatives and evaluation of operations
• Driving the development of investigation activities together with the group manager
• When necessary, be responsible for preliminary investigation of cases in other parts of the police district
• When necessary, be prepared to act as group manager in their absence
QUALIFICATIONS
This is an opportunity for you if you have:
• Swedish Police Examination, in accordance with the Police Ordinance (2014:1104) or other education or experience that the employer deems relevant
• Good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish
• Category B driving license
It is meritorious if you also have:
• Investigation Leader training
• Experience with criminal investigation activities
• Documented experience with leadership
Personal Qualities
As an Investigation Leader, you will play a central role in criminal investigations, and we are therefore looking for someone with a genuine interest in investigating crime. The work can at times be intensive and therefore requires you to be flexible while also having the ability to quickly structure, plan, and prioritize the flow of cases from an overall operational perspective.
To be successful in this role, you should have a strong ability to make decisions and well-developed communication skills. You must be skilled at using and conveying your knowledge, issuing directives, and demonstrating good judgment even under time pressure. You are development-oriented and can, through this, also inspire and lead others through change.
As an Investigation Leader, you have many points of contact both internally and externally, which requires good collaboration skills and relationship-building abilities. You have strong commitment, are receptive, and willingly engage in employee-driven improvement work.
We will place great emphasis on personal qualities.
