About the Unit The Swedish Armed Forces Telecommunications and Information Systems Regiment, FMTIS, has the primary task of managing the operation and maintenance of command support systems at all readiness levels both nationally and internationally. The unit you will join is led from Örebro, but the work is located in Luleå/Boden. Main Responsibilities Work as a systems technician involves varied tasks that include monitoring and operation of multiple technical systems and networks. Through monitoring, incoming error reports, and troubleshooting, we analyze what measures need to be taken. You will also work with one or more areas within installation, configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting of equipment and systems. The position involves continuous learning of new technologies and products, including training both internally and externally. This also means that employees have considerable room for professional development within the Swedish Armed Forces. Travel and work at other locations occur and are typically planned. Qualifications REQUIREMENTS At least upper secondary education with IT or electrical focus, or other education and/or experience that we consider equivalent. Basic knowledge of hardware and peripheral equipment Driver's license for passenger vehicle Swedish citizenship Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English Good physical fitness Meritorious It is meritorious if you have work experience in operational monitoring of technical systems. Other valuable experience could include work as a field technician, deployment technician, or installer. We would appreciate if you also have one or more of these meritorious skills: FM cryptographic solutions FM IT systems Knowledge of FTN Documentation Current and relevant experience in networks/communications, patching, switches, and TCP/IP Experience from service in the Swedish Armed Forces (e.g., previously employed as CIV/GSS/K, etc.) Military basic training or military service Previous service in a state authority Personal Qualities We are looking for someone who is engaged and service-oriented. Other Information The position is a permanent employment as a civilian employee and begins with a 6-month probationary period if you are not employed within the Swedish Armed Forces.
