Job Responsibilities
Are you a truly skilled educator who wants to work on pedagogical development alongside your teaching role? Then you could be the person we're looking for in our lead teacher team at Apelgårdsskolan as we now seek a lead teacher in Swedish/Swedish as a Second Language/Social Studies for grades 4-6. Apelgårdsskolan currently has several dedicated lead teachers who conduct overall pedagogical development at the school on behalf of the leadership team. In your role as a lead teacher with us, you work in close collaboration with school leadership and fellow lead teacher colleagues. In consultation with school leadership, you will have good conditions to plan, implement, and evaluate the development initiatives you are responsible for.
As a lead teacher, you inspire your colleagues in a clear yet humble manner and thereby contribute to higher goal achievement. The majority of your position is teaching and tasks related to teaching. You conduct varied, creative, and engaging instruction for our students, both individually and as part of a team. You find strategies to reach every student and contribute to increased goal achievement. You plan, assess, evaluate, and develop pedagogical activities in accordance with the school's policy documents and systematic quality improvement work. The lead teacher works at their own workplace but also has a partially municipal/administrative-wide assignment through sharing good practices.
Qualifications
You who apply are a certified teacher with credentials in Swedish/Swedish as a Second Language and Social Studies for grades 4-6. If you have previous experience working specifically with literacy and phonics instruction, we view that very positively. To be qualified for the lead teacher assignment, you must be able to document, through records, at least four years of well-documented work after graduation with teaching within the framework of one or more positions in the school system.
We would also like you to have experience mentoring other teachers and driving development processes based on systematic quality improvement work. For this position, we also see that you are a clear classroom leader. You have an interest in developing both your own teaching and that of your colleagues based on research, preferably in combination with current research in cognitive science.
Based on evidence-based research, you can develop your work and, with good knowledge and experience, you work efficiently with relevant digital tools. Through clear structures and an organized approach, you find ways to reach our students while also having a talent for building good and sustainable relationships with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
To be a good fit as a lead teacher with us, it is important that you are stress-resilient, flexible, capable of lateral thinking, and responsive.
We welcome your application!
