Description We are now seeking you to take on the role of Lead Teacher and help develop a modern and forward-thinking operation where student learning is at the center. As a Lead Teacher, you have an important role in our shared development work and contribute to strengthening the quality of instruction, creating the best conditions for student learning, and increasing goal achievement. Lundbyskolan is a school with students in grades 7-9. Approximately 430 students attend the school, plus about 30 students in adapted primary school. The school has just started its third academic year and is therefore a new and modern school with classrooms adapted to the nature of the subjects. Lundbyskolan shares its facilities with the Sports and Association Administration and the School of Culture. Adjacent to the school is a renovated 1950s auditorium that Lundbyskolan can book for various activities. The position of Lead Teacher begins August 1, 2026, and is offered through a fixed-term employment arrangement (SÄVA). This fixed-term employment extends for three years. For all Lead Teachers with fixed-term employment, there is an underlying permanent position as a teacher at the workplace where the Lead Teacher role is performed. Duties In your role as Lead Teacher, you will primarily work teaching mathematics, natural sciences, and technology. In addition, you will work on school development tasks identified through the school's systematic quality work. The core of systematic quality work is student learning and goal achievement; therefore, your work as Lead Teacher is primarily focused on guiding your colleagues toward practices that lead to improved student results and, together with other teachers at the school, developing instruction to increase student learning. Based on the areas identified in the school's systematic quality work, you will work together with the school's teachers and school development group. In collegial learning, you play a central and important role through mentoring and coaching, as well as by contributing knowledge about research and proven experience. An important task for a Lead Teacher is mentoring student teachers and providing guidance to newly qualified teachers, with the aim of contributing to a good introduction to the teaching profession. A more detailed assignment will be formulated in consultation between the Lead Teacher and the school's principal. This will include the conditions for and content of the role. Qualifications We seek you with a teaching degree and valid teaching certification. To be considered for the role of Lead Teacher with us, you should also have the following qualifications: Are a teacher with at least five years of legitimate, well-documented teaching experience within the education system Have a strong ability to develop instruction by systematically examining, improving, and following up on teaching so that it supports and develops student learning Have a strong ability to drive school development based on the school's systematic quality work in collaboration with school leadership Contribute knowledge about research and proven experience Have developed analytical skills Have a strong ability to lead others in collegial learning Have achieved merit level 2 in the professional development program or plan to do so within 3 years. As a person, you are clear and organized, with a strong ability to create conditions for learning and development for both students and colleagues. You have a genuine interest in development work and actively work to strengthen the quality of instruction based on research, proven experience, and a scientific approach. You are communicative and able to adapt and convey information clearly according to different audiences' needs and perspectives. By encouraging dialogue, participation, and engagement, you contribute to a culture where cooperation and shared learning are the focus. You are collaboration-oriented and see the value of working together with colleagues to achieve the organization's goals. At the same time, you have the ability to take responsibility for and drive development initiatives within your area. Furthermore, you are analytical and able to create an overall picture of the organization and place your own role in a larger context. You can identify and analyze challenges, see connections, and draw well-founded conclusions, even when information is complex or limited.
