Then you might be the person we're looking for as we seek a lead teacher for Oxievångsskolan in Math/Science. Oxievångsskolan currently has 6 dedicated lead teachers who drive pedagogical development at the school on behalf of the leadership team. This role focuses on developing math instruction from a K-9 perspective so our students have the conditions to achieve the best possible learning outcomes. During the school year, you will oversee the math subject group, where we will implement a development initiative, and as lead teacher you will have a significant and important role. You will also be responsible for one of our work teams. In close consultation with school leadership, you will have excellent conditions to plan, implement, and evaluate the development initiatives you are responsible for. Every week our school development group meets with school leadership, special educators, and lead teachers to systematically develop instruction throughout the year. We have high expectations of one another and collectively contribute to a developmental climate. Your development initiatives will inspire your colleagues and contribute to higher achievement. At the same time, the main part of your role is teaching. You will begin your service as a mentor in the middle grades to get to know the entire operation. You conduct varied, creative, and engaging instruction for our students, both individually and as part of a team. You analyze your own teaching and find strategies to reach each student and contribute to increased goal achievement. You plan, assess, evaluate, and develop pedagogical activities in accordance with the school's guidelines and systematic quality work. The lead teacher works at their own school site but also has a partial district/administration-wide role by sharing best practices. Qualifications You are a licensed teacher with certification in Math and Science. To be suitable for the lead teacher role, you must be able to document at least four years of well-documented work experience after graduation with teaching experience within one or more positions in the school system. We would also like to see that you have experience mentoring other teachers or leading pedagogical development processes. Based on evidence-based research, you can develop your work, and with good knowledge and practice, you work effectively with relevant digital tools. Naturally, you maintain a professional approach and work to build positive relationships with our students, their guardians, and all your colleagues at the school. To be a good fit as a lead teacher with us, it is important that you have strong commitment to developing math instruction, feel confident in your professional role, have the ability to inspire and bring colleagues along with you, even when people don't always see things the same way, and are willing to reconsider ideas until we succeed together. You have your own drive and take great responsibility for your area of responsibility and actively contribute to the school development group's and school's shared development areas. You thrive in a team role where you humbly and unpretentiously share your knowledge for the benefit of students, while also leading yourself and your colleagues forward.
