Ref: 20261941 Job Responsibilities Would you like to work with the important mission of being a preschool teacher in an adapted elementary school? We are looking for a preschool teacher who wants to be part of our team at Mellanhed School's adapted elementary school. At Mellanhed School, we work with equitable education and adapted learning environments. The work is characterized by clarifying pedagogy, AAC, and a low-affect approach. With good knowledge and experience, you work with our students with intellectual disabilities, NPF, and language vulnerability. You work to adapt instruction based on the curriculum and governing documents, so that together we create a safe environment in both school and aftercare. As a preschool teacher, you work in a team consisting of dedicated and knowledgeable educators who look forward to your participation in planning and implementing pedagogical work with students. You plan, implement, and evaluate instruction as well as develop and ensure the quality of aftercare and short-term supervision (LSS). In addition, your responsibilities will include supporting students in developing various school social skills and being a support for the student(s) throughout the school day, during both class time and aftercare. This includes a supervision responsibility that is especially important since our students have intellectual disabilities and therefore have more or less limited consequence thinking. Your assignment also includes care and personal care activities. The work is varied and shaped based on the nature of the individual assignment and students' needs. Qualifications You are a certified preschool teacher or a certified teacher with authorization to teach in preschool class. Previous experience working as a preschool teacher in an adapted elementary school is a merit. Experience working with children and young people with NPF diagnoses and/or education regarding intellectual disabilities and NPF is also a merit. If you have experience with AAC/TAKK, it is a merit, and if you have knowledge of various diagnoses and disabilities, we consider that a merit. If you have previous experience working with children and young people with autism, we consider that a merit. You need to be able to express yourself clearly in Swedish, both verbally and in writing, as the work involves contact with guardians and some documentation. You have good didactic and pedagogical abilities and can lead and organize your work to create a good learning environment for students. Based on scientific foundation and proven experience, you contribute to developing the operation. You also have good experience with relevant digital tools. As a person, you also take on the role of an adult role model and are secure and trust-building in your approach with our students, and you see others' strengths and differences as an asset. You are initiative-taking, flexible, and can easily adapt based on what the operation requires. You take your own initiative, are engaged, and interested in students' learning and development. About the Workplace Mellanhed School has operations for students in preschool class through grade 9, as well as an adapted elementary school for grades 1-9. Approximately 1,100 students attend the school. In the fall of 2022, Mellanhed School took over the facilities that were previously Slottsstad School. This means that Mellanhed School has operations at two school units. Mellanheden 1 has operations for grades F-3, while Mellanheden 2 (formerly Slottsstad School) has operations for grades 4–9.
