The preschool is designed for meetings, with a large plaza placed in the middle of the building as a central gathering place where everyone can meet and different relationships can develop. We work inspired by Reggio Emilia philosophy, with competent children at the center, their innate curiosity as a driving force in learning, and with core values such as joy, learning, safety, exploration, community and participation. We have eight departments for children of different ages, with an outdoor environment that encourages play, movement and exploration. Brunnsbo is in an exciting development phase with new construction and a growing area, which we utilize in our project-based work with the children. We see the preschool as a place for democracy and participation where children have the opportunity to influence their daily life and be an active part of the community, where language and knowledge development work is central.
