About the Role As a Research Coordinator at Grants Office, you will work closely with researchers at Linköping University and help strengthen their opportunities to attract external research funding. You will provide qualified support throughout the application process—from environmental scanning and strategic advisory to developing competitive applications and supporting implementation matters. The role has particular focus on the EU research and innovation framework program, Horizon Europe, but also includes other prioritized national and international funders. The work is both operational and strategic, encompassing development of project ideas, consortium building, and quality assurance and compliance in application processes. The position is shared between Grants Office and an institution within the Faculty of Engineering. You will be organizationally placed at Grants Office but will work a significant part of the time with researchers, management, and research environments at the institution, where you will serve as a strategic and operational support in matters concerning external research funding. At the same time, you will be part of Grants Office and contribute to developing common working methods and the university's collective capacity in research funding. You will work in an advisory function with broad contact surfaces, collaborating with researchers, internal support functions, and external stakeholders. The role requires the ability to manage complex processes and contribute to developing working methods that strengthen the university's long-term capacity in research funding. Examples of responsibilities: Provide qualified support for applications to EU framework programs and other prioritized funders. Contribute strategically to the development of project ideas and applications. Coordinate and conduct seminars and internal training. Monitor and analyze funding calls and policy development. Serve as a contact person toward the EU Commission and other funders. Contribute to developing internal processes and working methods. Provide strategic and operational support to one to two institutions within the Faculty of Engineering, analyze funding opportunities, follow up on application results, advise management and researchers, and develop processes, competence, and working methods to strengthen the quality of research applications. Provide support during project implementation and reporting to funders. Maintain contact with national and international project partners in application and implementation processes. To succeed in this role, you need a genuine interest in research funding and international research collaborations. In addition to the personal skills described above, we would like you to have: A doctoral degree in engineering science, or a doctoral degree and research experience in engineering science Very strong ability to express yourself orally and in writing in English and Swedish It is meritorious if you have: Experience with EU applications, particularly Horizon Europe Good knowledge of the international research and innovation landscape Experience in research funding and research support Experience of having applied for and received research funding Your Workplace Grants Office is part of the Research and Innovation Support Department, FINA, at University Administration.
