Your role
As a research engineer in water management, you'll work on building and further developing knowledge about mine water at LKAB. The role involves independent responsibility for monitoring the current state and contributing to desired future development of water management, with particular focus on the underground environments in Malmberget and Kiruna. The work is characterized by analysis, long-term thinking, and a holistic perspective on water issues in mining operations.
Collect, structure, and update information about mine water in current and future target state
Work with capacity issues, identify limitations, and contribute to relevant key metrics
Analyze data and assess the need and potential for modeling and new approaches
Lead, review, and quality assure external projects and investigations
Compile knowledge about hydrogeology, groundwater inflows, water treatment, and water balance in the underground mining process

What you bring

Requirements for the position:
Experience in water management in mining operations, with focus on mine dewatering
Experience working with water systems and water quality
Academic education at bachelor's or master's level in mining engineering or other relevant field
Very strong English language skills, both spoken and written
Driver's license category B
Meritorious:
Experience in project management or project-based work
Knowledge of mine water modeling tools, for example Pumpsim
Experience in hydrogeology work
Experience with Deswik, statistical analysis tools, or Power BI
