Do you want to work at the intersection of research data, scientific publishing, and digital infrastructure – and contribute to strengthening open science at a leading medical university? Karolinska Institute University Library (KIB) is now seeking a Research Data Advisor for a key role in developing our research data support. Your Role As a Research Data Advisor at KIB, you will become part of the Data Access Unit (DAU), where we develop and deliver support to KI researchers in the university's research data management with a particular focus on publishing, accessibility, and long-term preservation. The role involves integrated work between advisory services, development, and collaboration, with close links to open science and FAIR principles. You will work in an environment where researcher support, infrastructures, and policy matters intersect, and the role combines: providing qualified support to both individual researchers and research groups on data management, data publishing, and reuse reviewing and quality-assuring metadata and data publications, handling cases, including access to and release of research data, supporting researchers before depositing in KI Data Repository and other future repository solutions curating and structuring metadata and creating relationships between data records, contributing to quality assurance according to FAIR principles, participating in analysis of KI's data publishing contributing to the development of services, processes, and technical infrastructure for research data collaborating with researchers, legal experts, IT, archives functions, and national/international infrastructures Who Are You? You have a good understanding of researchers' work processes and needs. The operation can alternate between being planned and driven by external factors. You can handle issues that arise independently and are proactive, curious, and development-oriented in solving complex tasks. You have: An academic degree in a relevant field (e.g., medicine and health sciences, computer science, systems science, informatics, archival science, or library and information science) Experience with scientific publishing or research data processes Understanding of metadata and research data management Experience independently initiating, designing, leading, and completing development projects/activities Good ability to communicate in Swedish and English It is a merit if you have: Experience working with research infrastructure, data repositories, or research information systems Experience with systems administration and development, system integrations, or requirements specification Knowledge of open science and FAIR principles Experience from a research environment or public sector Experience with analysis, monitoring, or visualization of research data We place great emphasis on personal qualities.
