At the Faculty of Teacher Education, research and education are conducted across a broad range of fields. We are now seeking a research assistant for our projects in political psychology with a focus on political psychological aspects of polarization. The projects specifically address affective polarization and connect this to, among other things, climate attitudes and democratic tolerance. The studies in the project employ a quantitative approach. The position is placed at the Department of Psychology. At the Department of Psychology, we have 16 faculty members who teach independent psychology courses, a master's program in psychology, a behavioral science program, and courses within teacher education and a public health education program. The position requires accuracy, strong planning and analytical skills, and the ability to work independently. The person hired is also expected to take initiative and assist in advancing the project. A genuine interest in the subject is therefore essential. The ability to independently solve problems is a prerequisite, as is the social competence to manage contact with other project participants and any other stakeholders. Duties The work tasks involve supporting ongoing research within the project, primarily through programming work to process and analyze debate data from Parliament. The tasks include conducting analyses based on large language models (LLM) and contributing to writing scientific articles based on the project's research results. Qualifications and Requirements We are looking for you with a master's degree in psychology or computer science. You should have previous experience working with quantitative data analysis, excellent knowledge of statistical data processing software and programming. You have excellent knowledge of Swedish and English and express yourself fluently in both speech and writing. If you have education in political science as well as experience with research on affective polarization and analysis of parliamentary debates, we view this as an asset. Furthermore, previous experience with large language models and participation in research projects with a political-psychological focus is considered a merit. Knowledge and experience with programming in Python is also considered a merit. Great weight will be placed on personal qualities, and the position requires accuracy, strong planning and independent work skills, as well as good communication abilities. You are expected to take initiative, solve problems independently, and assist in advancing the project. A genuine interest in the subject is therefore essential. You work well with others and manage contact with both study participants and any other stakeholders in a smooth manner. The ability to independently solve problems is a prerequisite. Other Information The position is a fixed-term full-time appointment for six months starting September 21, 2026, or by agreement. The position is located in Kristianstad at Näsby with good bus connections and parking facilities. Application Welcome to submit your application along with your CV and cover letter.
